What is DS Graphics doing?

A
s part of our continued eforts in environmental
vegetable based
responsibility, at DS Graphics we use
inks.
Vegetable oils are considered a more usable raw
material for ink production and are a renewable resource,
unlike petroleum. The base liquid for this type of ink is
made from a variety of vegetable oils such as corn, walnut,
coconut, and linseed. Recycled vegetable oils are
biodegradable
and release only 2-4% VOC’s (volatile
organic compounds) into the atmosphere. Solvents are not
required for cleaning and de-inking during recycling is much
easier, reducing VOC’s and hazardous waste further.
A
nything a printer does to keep materials from landills is
environmentally beneicial.
To that end, we recycle
unused ink and tightly control our inventory and scheduling
practices, ordering only the
quantities of ink we need. This
rigorous recycle and reuse
program
is equally important to
our environmental commitment as
the BRC rating of the ink we use.
